Destination Portobello Road

The Friday flea market never fails to deliver. This Blackpool Tram destination panel with its distinctive typeface will soon be terminating its journey on our studio wall, once framed.

S for Sumptuous

Spotted in Ghent by Phil C, the beautifully crafted wooden door to this antiquarian booksellers gave a hint of the promise of similarly exquisite finds once inside.

All Aboard!

We don't think Adam quite realised he was recording an example of Pareidolia when snapping this fruit cart in Deptford High Street. Apparently it's the trait of looking for the familiar in the unfamiliar and is particularly common with human faces. Good spot.

Fabulous Ferrari

Complete with original sellotape seal this model shark-nosed Ferrari begged to be bought at a recent flea market just for the box design alone. Oh, and the model didn't disappoint, although it may remain unmade and original for some time.

Visually Aware

As designers we do tend to observe the world differently, constantly looking for inspiration. Looking underfoot in a remote Norfolk church recently Phil C. was rewarded by discovering these beautifully crafted carved numerals.

The paint in Spain...

For twelve years Phil C has annually sped past this painted wall in Alicante unable to get the perfect shot from the motorway- till his wife captured it in all its beauty this year; it helps if you're not driving.

Jacques Tati

A not so tatty box of lovely French curves found by Louise at Alfie's antique market, a relic of a crafted past.

Keys cut here

Memento of a photoshoot in Uganda; although we still think the owner couldn't understand why we wanted to buy his handmade sign rather than have a key cut.

A stitch in time

Found in Chloe's granny's old sewing box, this tiny masterpiece is beautifully crafted in every detail.

Walltastic!

Spotted by Sarah T on a recent trip, this technicolour artwork brightened up a grey corner of the Bowery in New York.

Car boot masterpiece

With a little knowledge it's amazing what you find at car boot sales- an original 1964 Robert Motherwell print for the absurd price of a tenner, now proudly residing on Phil C's study wall.

Cool collage

Sometimes there's beauty in the uncontrolled - this amalgamation of posters past made for a remarkable image brightening up a barren Spanish landscape.

ABC 3D

It's exciting when you find a book that breaks the rules. Nicola found this typographic treat whilst holidaying in Rome, take a closer look here.
