As the fish stocks around the globe change, Glacialis wanted to educate consumers about the diversity of different species available and how its eaten around the world. Targeting their core customers they wanted to build an online platform to promote the attributes of the first of these lesser known white fish – Alaska Pollock.
We designed the microsite to be interactive, giving the user lots of opportunity to explore, diving deeper into the world of Alaska Pollock. Key information is highlighted as you scroll through the website, following the entire product journey from catch to land.
A main feature the client wanted to reinforce was the authenticity of its sustainable ‘wild fresh-frozen’ at sea product message. We developed a tracing system where the customer, using the smart labelling from their packaging, can find out product information along with where and which vessel caught their fish. Fully traceable to point of catch.
Working with illustrator Karolis Strautniekas we commissioned a series of illustrations to bring to life our interactive exploration into the world of Alaska Pollock. These illustrations then formed the basis for an animation telling the story from sea to plate.
