Ocean Spirit was created as part of the brand portfolio of businesses owned by the sustainable international fisheries group Norebo.
Formerly known as Ocean Trawlers, our challenge was to reposition the brand away from the perceived negative connection to industrial trawling and more towards the broader business offer, which now includes line-caught fish.
The new Ocean Spirit name taps into the romance of the high seas. The brand mark is a roundel representing the global nature of the company, while an evocative image of colossal seas into which a vessel is pitched captures the wild and epic nature of deep sea fishing.
The brand’s typographic style takes its inspiration from the language of shipping with bold nautical style lettering used across the range on each touchpoint.

The new positioning and branding has been successfully rolled out across five continents. The initial response has been very positive and the company is still going from strength to strength.
